WHY EL SALVADOR IS NOT A DEVELOPED COUNTRY?

Today I want to share with you some reasons why I consider that our country is not developed, but also some recommendations that could help us to become a developed country in the future.

First, it is necessary to mention that during many years in El Salvador has existed an unequal distribution of the wealth that sparked a civil war that lasted 12 years and destroyed the little infrastructure that the country had in that moment.

Second, it is important to say that after signing the peace accords, many governments came from different political parties and neither invested in good infrastructure nor stop the formation of gang groups.

Third, although currently public investment in education has improved, there are still infrastructure problems not only in public schools but also at UES. Moreover, the contents that students learn in school and at UES are far behind and as long as the situation does not change, the country will not become a developed one.

Finally, some recommendations that could help in order to become a developed country:

1. Increase the investment in infrastructures like: schools, hospitales, universities, roads, etc.

2. Improve the transparency in all the state institutions.

3. Reduce spending on the military and allocate it to education and health.

4. Allocate 8% of GDP to education.
